About

Why we built Loopz

Loopz is screen time worth saying yes to: a galaxy of games kids actually want to play, where they build real skills across coding, math, reading, art and more. They learn by doing hands-on missions rather than watching lectures, with every subject built to a standard experts wrote. And it's designed deliberately against the dark patterns that fill so much of children's software.

Why Loopz

It's not about how much. It's about what.

Parenting is hard, and keeping kids entertained all day is harder. When you're burned out, handing over a device is completely understandable, and we're not here to tell anyone how much screen time is "right." That's your call, and every family is different.

But not all screen time is the same, and the guidance has been shifting from how much to what kind. So much of what kids reach for, endless short-form video and infinitely scrolling games, is engineered to be consumed passively and to keep them hooked. Over time, you can see what it does: shorter attention spans, a constant need for stimulation, boredom the moment the feed stops.

Loopz is the alternative for the time kids do spend on a screen. Instead of passively consuming, they become active explorers and creators, building, solving and making, the kind of hands-on engagement that actually builds skills they keep.

And this matters more with every passing year. Technology now runs through almost everything our kids will grow into: how they learn, create, work and play. We can't opt them out of that world, and we wouldn't want to. What we can shape is how they meet it, not as passive consumers of whatever a screen serves up, but as capable creators who understand how things work and can build their own. That's the future Loopz is quietly preparing them for.

What we believe

Our promises, built into the product

These are not marketing lines. They are constraints we hold ourselves to, even when breaking them would lift our numbers.

🚫

No ads, ever

No advertising and no data brokering. A child's attention is not a product we sell.

💜

No in-app purchases

Nothing to buy mid-play, no paywalls between a kid and the next mission. The only currency, Lux, is earned and buys cosmetics to decorate their space cabin, pure self-expression.

⏱️

No streaks or timers

No daily-login guilt, no energy meters counting down. Nothing engineered to manufacture a habit against a child's interest.

🏁

A real ending

Each mission has a clear "done," and the galaxy can be fully restored. There are no bottomless feeds or engagement traps, just a natural place to stop whenever your family decides it's time.

🛠️

Learn by doing

Kids solve puzzles that build real mental models, sequencing, logic, number sense, because children understand far more when they do than when they watch.

🌱

Mistakes are never "wrong"

A missed answer just "needs a bit more power, try again." The child keeps all the agency, and all the credit.

What's inside

Six learning stations, one galaxy

The breadth is the point. Loopz isn't five separate single-subject apps; it's one world where each subject is a station waiting to be brought back to life. And the learning is grounded in real standards: math follows the Singapore MOE 2021 syllabus, the world's top-ranked math curriculum, and computer science follows the CSTA K-12 framework, with more domains on the way.

The adventure

A galaxy waiting to be restored

Long ago the Spark Network lit the galaxy and powered every Learning Station. Then came the Fading, and the stations went dark. That is where your child comes in, as the Navigator, the one who finds the way.

They travel with Oli the Space Otter, a warm guide who celebrates their thinking and never solves the puzzle for them. Each planet is "waiting to be restored," never broken or failed, and every mission a kid completes lights another part of the map back up.

It reframes learning the way it should be: not a test to pass, but a world to bring back to life.

Our promise

We're playing the long game

We're not taking the venture-backed, growth-at-all-costs path, because that road almost always ends with optimising for engagement over learning. We'd rather build something small, honest and sustainable, and improve it in the open, one station at a time.

No investors to please, no engagement targets to hit. Just a product we'd be proud to hand our own kids, getting a little better every week. If you believe in that too, you're in the right place.

From the founder

Built by an aunt who got fed up

Hi, I'm Léa Thuy Vu. This started with my two nephews. I watched them spend countless hours on Roblox and short-form videos on YouTube and TikTok, and I saw how it shaped them: their attention spans, how quickly they got bored, how much stimulation they seemed to need just to feel okay.

I'll say the thing you might be wondering: I'm not a teacher, and I have no formal background in education. I'm a builder. Honestly, I think that's exactly why Loopz turned out to be a game my nephews choose, not homework they're made to sit through. And so the learning genuinely holds up, the rigour doesn't rest on my opinion of what's "good enough": every subject is built to a standard that real experts wrote, like Singapore's MOE maths curriculum and the CSTA K-12 computer-science framework, and I'm bringing in trained educators to review the content as Loopz grows.

I'm not against screens, and I don't think any parent should feel guilty about them. I just couldn't find software that made that time genuinely worthwhile, so I'm building it: broad, hands-on, and honest, in the open, one station at a time. A real person (me) reads every message. If it resonates, I'd love for you to try it.
