Privacy policy
Last updated 21 June 2026
The short version: we keep children's data to a minimum. A parent sets up a nickname (not a real name) and, optionally, a grade level; we never hold a child's real name, birthday, photo, or location. We don't show ads, and we never sell, rent, or broker anyone's data.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Loopz marketing website (codeloopz.com) and the Loopz learning app (learn.codeloopz.com). Loopz is a children's learning game, currently in private beta, built and run independently by Léa Thuy Vu.
What we collect
From children, in the app
A parent or guardian sets up each child's profile during a short, consented setup, and children are never asked to type personal information themselves. We keep what's stored to a minimum:
- A nickname the parent chooses (we ask that it not be the child's real full name) and, optionally, a grade level to set the starting difficulty. Skip the grade and the game finds the right level by how the child plays, so no age is stored at all.
- An anonymous explorer code and which missions were started, solved, and how (stars, whether a hint was used).
- Time spent in the app and basic session activity, used to show progress, never sold or used for advertising.
- In-game actions like cosmetic items bought with earned Lux (the game's non-purchasable currency).
We do not collect a child's real or full name, date of birth, photograph, voice, location, or contacts. See our COPPA notice for how we handle children's data specifically.
From parents and visitors, on the website
- Email address, only if you give it to join the waitlist or to email us. We also note the marketing source of your visit (for example, a link's campaign tag) so we understand how people find us.
- Basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the website is used (pages viewed, rough device type), to improve the site. Our contact form opens your own email app and sends nothing through this site.
How we use it
- To run and improve the app and the parent report.
- To reply to you, and to send occasional beta and launch updates if you joined the waitlist (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To understand, in aggregate, what's working so we can build better missions.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or broker your data.
- We never show ads, and we never use a child's activity to target advertising.
- We never track children across other websites or apps.
Who helps us run Loopz
We use a small set of trusted service providers purely to operate the product, not to monetise your data: Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting and basic analytics), Kit (waitlist email), and PostHog (product analytics on the website). They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep data only as long as it's useful for the purposes above. You can ask us to show you what we hold for your explorer code or email, or to delete it, at any time. Just email hello@loopz.app and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and its "last updated" date. For anything material, we'll do our best to tell waitlist members directly.
